SEOmoz Rocks the Search World with Release of Linkscape

Rand Fiskin recently announced that his venture capital backed internet marketing and technology company SEOmoz has not only successfully launched an index of the Web (30 billion pages+), but also a tool called Linkscape, which empowers internet marketers and search engine marketers to better understand and analyze the value of “links,” among other things.

Linkscape

I honestly believe this announcement by SEOmoz will go down as one of the most significant advances to the search-engine marketing industry in the last 8 years.

As internet marketers we now have access to the most robust and comprehensive tool available anywhere for understanding, prioritizing, and evaluating the value of links for purposes of search-engine optimization.

do you have a personal involvement or money in this progect? this review seems bias.

  2. Kris Jones Says:

    Dave,

    No financial involvement.

Rand contacted me several months ago and said that his company (SEOmoz) was working on something big.

When you look at the importance of links in SEO…Linkscape is potentially revolutionary.

Okay, so I’m trying to understand what’s so revolutionary about this. It gives us a picture of what ‘may’ be going on with the way Google views things. But it is not any more clearer than it was before. Additionally, I don’t quite see how this would affect anything at all! Doing SEO the right way remains completely the same, and there is nothing that strikes me as revolutionary in this.

I mean we already know links are important – for crying out loud, Google itself clarifies this on their blog. Then what’s the point of over-analyzing something so simple and straightforward?

quite interesting, we’ll see how it goes on :)
